Theme and Word of the Day

Theme: Contagion

In the interest of the latest worldwide outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus, which has been featured prominently in our weekly discussions over the past several weeks, let’s dedicate an entire meeting theme to the topic. Contagion is a general reference to a contagious disease, its transmission, or the agent that causes it. Contagion is also a 2011 movie about a similar virus sweeping the world and wreaking havoc: Bring your best disease stories, fondest memories of being sick, or other surprising contagion-related events to the meeting.

Word of the Day: Contagion (noun) con·ta·gion | kən-ˈtā-jən

1. a contagious disease

2. the transmission of a disease by direct or indirect contact

3. a disease-producing agent (such as a virus)
